An action packed KZEP Weekend but not much of a football weekend. UT Longhorns completely out played and out coached. Horns never showed up and were never in the game. The upside, leaving for the GHG was easy. The kickoff party was a huge success on Saturday afternoon. It was fantastic to see so many cool peeps, that I hadn't seen since 2011 GHG. Here we go with the 2012 GHG, the bike is gorgeous. A silver and black HD Street Bob, plenty of Rock N Roll attitude. KZEP Dollar Beer Night had Crash hosting the KZEP Rock Zone with OUR SA RAMPAGE hockey team. Over 7,000 in attendance for the season opener. Ready Set Rampage! Just because we needed one more huge event on a KZEP Rockin Saturday Night....The South Texas Rock Fest was also a huge success. 2 stages, full bar, Michael Schenker, Dokken, Accept, Queensryche, and another 4,000 KZEP Rockers! This event featured the debut of new Queensryche singer Todd Le Torre. By most accounts, he nailed it. The set list concentrated on the first five QR albums and one particular highlight was the mis-introduced 'Warning". Todd said "this next one is from Operation Mindcrime"-- Todd caught his mistake, apologized, and rocked on. "The Needle Lies" and the show closer "Empire" also noteworthy.
Then there was Sunday. The Packers destroyed my Texans. Rodgers figured out something about our defense and stuck it to us. I will blame the short work week and the absence of Cushing. The Texans will DEFEAT the Ravens on Sunday. Speaking of the Ravens, your Cowboys should of won and won big. Ravens 31 Cowboys 29, blame the missed FG, blame the droppped passes, but the trouble runs deeper. They played with no sense of urgency. The 2 minute drill is something that all teams practice every week. The Cowboys played with NO sense of urgency. They still have too many costly penalties and top that with lackluster play, both are direct reflections of the coach. The Texans will rebound and the Cowboys will probably spiral. Your Boys do have the Panthers next though and should win. The key word being "should".
Today's video some Texas rock for the Texas teams:
