Here is today’s 20 Minute Trivia:
Q… One out five people in this survey say they do this be a better parent … what is it?
A… Drink alcohol.
According to a survey by a British charity, one in five people with kids think that drinking makes them a BETTER parent.
Only 9% of parents thought that drinking had a negative effect on their family. More than TWICE as many parents thought that alcohol IMPROVED their parenting. Three in five parents
said that drinking had NO effect on their parenting skills.
More than HALF of parents said that they drink every week . . . and 7% said that they drink every day.
Dads were three times more likely than moms to drink on a daily basis . . . but moms were twice as likely to use illegal drugs.
Parents said that drinking helped them to deal with the stress of raising children and that having kids encouraged them to drink MORE. 17% of people said their drinking increased after they had their first kid.

Q… It may not be this way in America but over 25% of the Britts say they will wait patiently for the right time to do this… what is it?
A… Merge into traffic.
It probably doesn't seem like it right now, but according to a survey by a British car dealership named Carcraft, drivers are becoming friendlier and more patient.
Three out of five drivers say they're happy to sit in traffic . . . without moving . . . until things clear up and they can get where they have to go. Only one in four say that they'd bail out and try to find an alternate route.
One in three drivers SMILE at other drivers when they're trying to merge or change lanes . . . and one in five say they give a friendly wave. Women are more likely than men to wave or
smile . . . and drivers over age 55 are LEAST likely to smile.
And 30% of drivers say they'll sit and wait to merge until a space develops instead of being
aggressive. A really small percentage of drivers say that they honk their horn or switch back-and-forth from lane to lane to try to get past other cars. (--They don't say how small the
percentage is.)
Only 3% of drivers say that they lose their temper in traffic and curse. But since the survey was done in Britain, is there ANY way these numbers apply here?
